Woodland Hills
A bit of history
The area was founded in 1922 as the town of Girard by developer Victor Girard Kleinberger, who planted thousands of trees across the tract. In the 1930s and 40s, Warner Bros. co-founder Harry Warner acquired more than 1,000 acres nearby for a home and thoroughbred horse ranch, land that studios also used as an outdoor back lot for Western film sets. The community was renamed Woodland Hills in 1945, and the postwar subdivision of Warner's ranch eventually gave rise to Warner Center, now one of the San Fernando Valley's largest business and commercial districts.
According to Crunchbase, it was founded by actor Darius McCrary, best known for playing Eddie Winslow on the sitcom "Family Matters."
