The core directory. Venture-track companies are sourced from SEC Form D filings, Y Combinator batches and startup news; bootstrapped companies are self-reported since they don't leave the same public paper trail. Both are browsable by city or industry.

Everyone around the companies themselves: investors actually headquartered in Southern California, accelerators and incubators, the startup and tech events calendar, and the people (founders and executives) who show up across multiple Form D filings.

The XML sitemap and every count on this page are generated from the same live database the rest of the site reads from, not a manually maintained list — a new company, event, or accelerator added today shows up here on its own, without a separate rebuild step. If you're looking for one specific company or person rather than browsing a section, the search page is usually faster than working through this list.
