CRISPR powered Diagnostics with results in minutes.
Existing molecular detection methods like PCR require target amplification, which limits detection speed and how many targets can be tested (multiplexed) at once.
VedaBio's 'CRISPR Cascade' platform uses engineered CRISPR enzymes to detect a molecular target and amplify the resulting signal directly, delivering results without needing target amplification.
The company states its Cascade technology achieves results in minutes, supports massive multiplexing of pooled targets (unlike PCR or other amplification technologies), and can be rapidly reprogrammed for new targets through simple sequence selection.
VedaBio, founded by CEO Anurup Ganguli, launched from stealth with over $40 million led by OMX Ventures and has since licensed CRISPR technology from Mammoth Biosciences.
