The product is built around a proprietary 'Smart Sensor Hub' and 'Breakaway Rim' that generate pro-level shooting analytics (FG%, shot angle/trajectory, an 'AI Shot Analysis' and 'Shot Quality' score) plus worldwide online competition, and the site claims units are still fully functional after 5+ years outdoors with an IP65 weatherproof rating and 40,000 units sold.

Huupe, maker of a smart basketball hoop, was co-founded by Paul Anton and Lyth Saeed and raised an $11M seed round co-led by Protagonist VC and Marvan Ventures (the fund of Milwaukee Bucks minority owner Keith Mardak); its board includes noted sports agent Audie Attar.
