Warfighters face a shortage of mid-tier interceptors (from Group 4 drones to medium-range ballistic missiles) because existing interceptors are oversized, overpriced, and outpaced by cheap mass-produced adversary weapons.

Wardstone builds a modular interceptor platform made of right-sized, mass-producible interceptors meant to let the West out-produce and out-perform adversaries.

Its modularity is built from interchangeable, standardized components (aero surfaces, propulsion, avionics, DACS, payload, seeker) that can be built by multiple suppliers in parallel and upgraded without redesigning the interceptor, which the site says lowers cost and enables true mass production.

Wardstone, a missile-defense startup building modular interceptors, was co-founded by brothers Sebastian and Tobias Fischer and went through Y Combinator.
