Standardized spacecraft buses force mission owners to compromise their payload objectives to fit a fixed bus design, often leading to cost, schedule, and risk overruns despite promises of simple integration.
Proteus generatively designs a custom, payload-tailored spacecraft bus around each customer's payload using AI and a database of flight-proven, TRL9 components, rather than fitting payloads into a standard bus.
They claim the largest TRL9 flight-heritage COTS spacecraft component database in the world, a fully deterministic and physics-anchored AI design system, and the ability to generate thousands of mission-closing bus options within 7 days (versus one or two options from standard-bus competitors).
Proteus Space's investors include Moonshots Capital, Crosscut Ventures, and SAIC Ventures, and defense contractor SAIC made a strategic investment in and partnership with the company to help build its AI-designed small satellites.
